MEC Newrene Klaasteand MEC Mase Manopole in Upington
The Northern Cape MEC for the department of agriculture, environmental affairs, rural development and Land reform Ms. Newrene Klaaste., will tomorrow, the 22nd October 2026, lead the provincial world food Day commemoration at Kalksloot community hall, ZF Mgcawu District. Klaaste will be joined by the MEC for social development, Ms. Mase Manopole., and other stakeholders. The program will start at half past ten in the morning, held under the theme “Fostering innovation for food security,” the program will highlight efforts to address hunger, strengthen food security and support local food production. According to information, the program will also include the handover of production inputs to ten subsistence producers and fifty households. They will raise awareness of poverty, hunger, and malnutrition and food insecurity.
