SKA Director-General visits South Africa

The Director-General of the Square Kilometre Array Observatory, Professor Jessica Dempsey, visited South Africa this morning. It was her first visit to the country since she took up the position in June. Dempsey discussed progress on the SKA telescopes in South Africa, as well as the country’s contribution to science, engineering and infrastructure. South Africa hosts the SKA-Mid project near Carnarvon in the Northern Cape, as well as the MeerKAT radio telescope.
