Safety indabas aimed at strengthening partnership policing and collective efforts
SAPS in the Northern Cape joined the MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison Ms. Limakatso Koloi at the first of five district community safety indabas aimed at strengthening partnership policing and collective efforts to create safer communities across the province at the De Aar Town hall in the Pixley Ka Seme district on the 15th September 2026. Police spokesperson warrant officer Molefi Shemane says Koloi was joined by the deputy provincial commissioner for policing major general Johnny Besnaar, provincial crime registrar brigadier Samuel Mathe and representatives from various government departments and community structures. Shemane says Koloi emphasized that the district community safety indabas are intended to strengthen collaboration between government, SAPS, communities and other stakeholders in addressing community safety, crime prevention and local safety priorities.
