The Joe Morolong local municipality says in light of the ongoing cold and rainy weather conditions, all community members are urged to exercise extreme caution and take proactive safety measures. Joe Morolong municipality spokesperson Ms. Lerato Khunou says weather forecasts indicated that the persistent rain increasing the risk of localized flooding. Khunou says key safety precautions for community members they should not cross flooded areas, avoid walking or driving across flooded bridges, roads, or low-lying streams. She says moving water is unpredictable and dangerous therefore community members living in low-lying areas or flood-prone zones should prepare to move to higher ground immediately if water levels begin to rise.
