Upington regional court convicted and sentenced two Kakamas men for raping a woman in Keimoes
Upington regional court convicted and sentenced two Kakamas men who were found guilty of raping a 32-year-old woman in Keimoes on the 31st July 2026 and sentenced both offenders to five years' direct imprisonment. The court heard that on the 5th April 2025, a 31 year old man Howard Mentoor and a 29 year old man Edwin Oortman unlawfully entered the residence of the victim's uncle at six o’clock in the morning while the occupants were asleep. Police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Thabo Litabe says the accused allegedly threatened the victim's uncle with a knife, searched him and demanded money. Litabe says the two men then sexually assaulted him before fleeing the scene. He says police welcomes the successful conviction and sentencing of two Kakamas men who were found guilty of raping a 32-year-old woman in Keimoes. Litabe says the following . . .
