Police in Namakwa district held a program focused on encouraging community members to report crime to the police yesterday, the 10th March 2026. Police spokesperson captain Ivan Magerman says police introduced SAPS Helpdesk where community members can report complaints, comments and general information via WhatsApp number where SAPS will follow up on all messages received. Magerman says the MySAPS App: This user-friendly application allows community members to report crime directly via their mobile phones which is easy, download it via the google play store or apple app store. He says community members are encouraged to contact their nearest police station or contact SAPS Crime Stop: Call the free, anonymous number 08600 10111 available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
