The MEC for the department of Social development Nontobeko Vilakazi and the acting head of the department Ms Shouneez Wookey celebrated the graduation of the youth tech-entrepreneurs and youth ICT SMME participants in the cell phone repairs technician and the installation of digital terrestrial television training courses which was facilitated by the department of Social development in partnership with the Vaal university of technologys e-skills coLab and the training provider human capital learning solutions which occurred yesterday 15March 2023. The training took place yesterday in Kuruman and the focus of this training was on 4IR in an effort to continue to accelerate socio-economic transformation and the department further aims to provide a pathway for self-sustainability for young people who are from previously marginalised communities through this training. Towards this end, a total of 31 young people were further recruited to undergo both these training and will therefore be trained in both the cellphone repairs and digital terrestrial television.
