Tuberculosis is still a major cause of I'll health and death with an asstimated 10 million people falling I'll with TB in 2019, according to a 2020 WHO global report. Southa Africa is one of the 30high burden TB countries, with South Africa accounting for 3% of the TB cases globally. With world TB day commemorations on the way are residents urged to encourage each other to complete their treatment by defaulters to go to healthcare facilities for their treatment. TB is curable. The Northern Cape has the 5th highest TB burden in the country. According to stats SA it is the leading cause of death followed by HIV, diabetes and hypertension.
