Police arrested 6 undocumented Zimbabwean males between the ages 23 and 45 years old in Kleinzee on Saturday, the 6th of April 2024 during the Operation Vala Umgodi. Police spokesperson sergeant Molefi Shemane says the team seized tools suspected to be used in illegal mining activities. Shemane says the arrest happened during illegal mining and associated criminal activities were dealt with the Bontekooi informal settlement in Kleinzee, when operation Vala Umgodi teams disrupted illegal activities. The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
